I have over 20 years experience as an editor and proofreader, with a focus on business (including the business aspects of health care), education, social sciences, women's studies, and technical topics. I started out in the Manuscript Editing Department of the University of Chicago Press, and have freelanced for many publishers, associations, and other businesses. I also have printing and prepress production experience. My education (ever continuing) includes a BA and MA in English from Northwestern University; business, desktop publishing, computer courses, and a Web site management certificate from Oakton Community College (Des Plaines, Illinois); and printing courses at the Printing Institute of Illinois. I am a member of Chicago Women in Publishing, eWomen Network, Dynamic Professional Women's Network, and am active with the Northwestern U. alumni. |
